Car Diagnostics in Nairobi

Computer diagnostics and hands-on testing to find the real cause of warning lights, poor running and electrical faults.

Car Diagnostics: an overview

Modern vehicles monitor themselves constantly. When something goes wrong, the engine or another control unit stores a fault code and may switch on a warning light. Reading that code is only the starting point — the code tells you which system is unhappy, not necessarily which part has failed.

Our diagnostic service combines scan-tool data with testing by a technician, so you get an explanation of the fault and the most sensible way to fix it.

Problems we can help with

  • Check engine light on
  • ABS, airbag or traction control warning
  • Engine misfiring, shaking or idling roughly
  • Loss of power or the car going into "limp mode"
  • Higher fuel consumption than usual
  • Gearbox shifting harshly
  • Intermittent electrical faults

What we do

We connect a diagnostic scan tool to read stored and pending fault codes from the vehicle's control units, and review live data such as sensor readings, fuel trims and temperatures while the engine runs.

The technician then tests the suspected components and wiring to confirm the cause, rather than replacing parts on guesswork. You receive a clear explanation of the findings and an estimate for the repair. If you approve, we carry out the repair, clear the codes and re-check that the fault has not returned.

Car Diagnostics: frequently asked questions

Can you just clear the check engine light?

We can clear codes, but if the underlying fault is still there the light will come back — and some faults can cause further damage if ignored. We recommend diagnosing the cause first.

Is it safe to drive with the check engine light on?

A steady light usually means a fault that should be checked soon. A flashing light often indicates a serious misfire that can damage the catalytic converter — reduce speed and have the vehicle checked as soon as possible.

Does diagnostics tell you exactly which part to replace?

Not always. Fault codes point to a system or circuit. Our technicians use the codes, live data and physical tests together to pinpoint the cause.
